We say, “Why wait?” The Verandas’ spooky homemade rendition of eggnog has Fall flavors all over it, with the infusion of pumpkin, spicy notes and grownup kick of a good Southern bourbon, and delicate web of freshly grated nutmeg.

Whip up a batch of Verandas Ghoulishly Delicious Pumpkin Spice Eggnog and treat your adult friends on Halloween. No need to raid the kiddo’s trick-or-treat candy… this is our favorite totally grown-up indulgence for a crisp fall evening.

Verandas Ghoulishly Delicious Pumpkin Spice Eggnog

Serves 8

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1/2 can pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 – 1 cup Jack Daniels Bourbon
  • 1/4 cup Frangelica
  • 2 cups French vanilla ice cream plus additional ice cream for serving

Blend all of the ingredients in a standing mixer. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each glass. Pour the eggnog over the ice cream, stirring occasionally to keep the mixture well-combined. Using a nutmeg grater, grate fresh nutmeg on top of each glass. Enjoy responsibly.
